Prakriti Sardana is a PhD Candidate in Civil Systems Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her research examines how communities successfully implement potable water reuse projects, with a focus on the organizational, institutional, and governance conditions that shape whether technically promising projects become trusted and operational systems.

Working with utilities, consultants, regulators, and other practitioners, she studies how public trust, interagency coordination, funding, operator preparedness, leadership continuity, and regulatory support influence project outcomes. Her work is part of a national collaboration supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Water Research Foundation to advance water reuse implementation across the United States.

Broadly, Prakriti is interested in how infrastructure decisions are made under uncertainty, and how policy and practice can better support resilient, publicly trusted, and institutionally feasible water systems.
